Can. Pours opaque black, large creamy brown head, dissipate slowly with good lacing. Aroma is huge coffee, some whiskey, a bit dusty, cocoa, vanillin, oak tannin. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter, hints of tartness and acetone, coffee and hints of green pepper. Medium body, a bit watery. Ugh. What a let down.

16 ounce can thanks to Greg. Big dark pour. Taste is fudge brownie and chocolate and some bourbon. Medium mouthfeel. A bit creamy. Boozy nose.

Can from Matt McCue, thanks brother. Pours black with light brown foam that fades quickly. Aroma is black malt, brown sugar, bourbon, astringent & coffee. Taste is similar with a thin mouth feel, and a nice warming finish of fudge brownies.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours dark brown (bordering on black) with a small, short-lived, off-white head. The nose is a lush, aromatic marriage of creamy mocha and sticky vanilla. Full-bodied with a smooth, lightly creamy mouthfeel and adequate carbonation. The flavor exudes medium-bitter roastiness and 88%-cacao dark chocolate flanked by only a rumor of dark-roast coffee. The coffee has faded a bit here. I’m picking up some light, well-disguised booziness, but it’s not distinctly "bourbon." There is enjoyable mocha and charcoal in the finish. Kudos to ctipping for popping the top off this world-class beer!

Merci à Alexandre pour le partage! Cannette. Liquide qui montre une belle souplesse. Une pré-mousse abondante, persistante et crémeuse. La mousse laisse sur mon verre de magnifiques dentelles que je ne me lasse d’admirer. Nez qui me surprend et me déplaît.

On tap at Pinocchio’s. Sampled. Lots of pine hops, mild coffee. Just didn’t really dig it.

16 oz can at Travlr’s DC Departure RateBeer Tasting. Thanks MrChopin! Dark brownish black with tan head. Aromas of oak, bourbon, chocolate. Tastes of bourbon, dark chocolate, oak. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Pretty good but still prefer the base double coffee version.
