Growler poured into a wine-style tasting glass. Pours black with some brown hues and a tan head. Aroma has huge amazing notes of roast and coffee, along with some caramel and chocolate. On the taste, big amazing roast and coffee notes again, with caramel, chocolate, and espresso. Full body with a semi-dry finish, very smooth. The coffee is really well done in this one. I picked up a number of 32oz growlers of this at Pizza Boy. I don’t typically rave, but about this, I need to. First thing you notice when you crack the growler is the wonderful inviting aroma of coffee, not overly roasted or overly gritty, but wonderful, fragrant, sweet coffee. Other aromas of milk chocolate, toast, molasses, mocha, caramel, a bit of vanilla bean. When you finally pour it in the glass, it’s an opaque black, oily, with some sudsy brown head. Flavors follow suit, roasted malt, molasses, a little licorice, some toast, brown sugar, caramel, a little raisin, pencil lead and really high end coffee. Roasty, coffee finish. Incredibly drinkable. Growler fill from Simon, pours opaque black with small beige head. Aromas and taste of espresso, coffee bean, green coffee, chocolate, fudge. Smaller notes of vanilla, nuts, bitter and smokey malts but not over the top. Aftertaste is like you chewed on some columbian grinds. So rich and layered. No alcohol present for 11%. This beer is insane. Really takes a dump on the higher regarded coffee stouts out there. Medium body, a little bit sticky. One of the best Terry has made at Pizza Boy.

Growler: The aroma consists of huge roasted coffee and light-moderate dark chocolate. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small beige head. The flavor starts with moderate milk chocolate with a touch of dark chocolate. The finish has moderate roasted coffee and a touch of vanilla. It’s medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, a top notch coffee Imperial Stout.

The taste hits you bigtime with strong coffee and dark roasted malts.
Mouthfeel is thick and silky. the coffee flavor lingers long after you swallow.
