Black body with a medium sized tan head and spotty lacing. Intense coffee and espresso. Assertive roasted and earthy malts. Medium bodied with moderate to lively carbonation. Fairly aggressive bitterness from the coffee. A bit more intense than Id prefer as it loses any real depth from the malt profile. A coffee fiend will probably get more out of this than me.

Pours dark black with a light creamy head. Smells heavily of coffee and chocolate and the taste does not disappoint. Tastes thick and rich with a smooth chocolatey finish. One of the best stouts Ive had.

22 oz bottle. Dark brown with beige foam. Nose is smoky coffee bean, chocolate, hay and light caramel. Creamy medium to full body with a buzz and a bite. Taste delivers big on the coffee as well. French roast, molasses and dark chocolate with an earthy finish. A lot of coffee.

22 oz bottle. Bottle states 9.5% abv. Pours a very deep brown, almost black but some amber notes coming through as I poured it (not motor oil black). Very small tan head that went away to nothing quickly. Aroma is all coffee and mocha, vanilla, some roasted malt and caramelbut primarily dominated by coffee. Coffee ice cream like aroma. Really is an excellent coffee beer aroma! Flavor is also of a ton of coffee, but not astringent. Caramel, mocha, milk chocolate, lightly roasted malt. Love the coffee profile in this beer. Coffee beers are one of my favorite styles and this is one of the best ones I have ever had. Had to knock the appearance a bit since it poured with minimal head and that went away quickly.

On tap half pint at AL's of Hampton (Pizza Boy) in Enola, PA. The ABV on the current version has been reduced to 9.5%. Opaque, brown-black with a tan head and good lacing. Aroma of dark roasted coffee, licorice, roasted malt, chocolate and vanilla. Taste of roasted coffee, licorice, chocolate, roasted malt, alcohol and vanilla. Medium/light body and high/medium carbonization. An intense imperial stout with enough coffee to keep you awake for three nights running. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at the brewpub. Nicely served in a glass coffee mug, and one could easily confuse this with a cold coffee. Theres a most definite coffee tug on this, thick and roasty all the way. Great blend. (#5765, 9/29/2014)
