Bottle shared at Pre-Borefts Tasting, The Hague '17. Near black with a ring tan head. Aroma of coffee, lactose, chocolate and tart dark fruits. Flavour is moderate sweet and above moderate sour. Sadly infected. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
From notes. Enjoyed at a bottle share at Sean’s on December 29. 32 oz crowler. The pour is a lighter black color with a thick tan head with a good bit of lace that’s left when it falls down to a thin cap. The aroma is full of cinnamon. Holy hell. There is a light coffee and a good coconut backing it up, but the cinnamon controls it. It’s like a very spicy latte, that’s for sure. The flavor is much of the same. The cinnamon kind of controls it with a light coffee and a hint of coconut. It’s really interesting, that’s for sure. The mouth feel is a bit light with a decent carbonation and a lingeringly spicy coffee and chocolate thing going on with a light coconut on the back end. It’s an interesting beer, not bad for 5.5%. kramer (6991) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 2, 2016
Tap. Pours a flat black body with a small fizzy brown head. The nose is sweet and creamy with a great roasted coffee note, roasty and black patent malts, smells delicious. The flavor is pretty great as well, sweetened coffee, nice roastiness, excellent lingering roasty malt. Medium bodied with minimal fizzy carbonation. Really great beer, coffee beers are among my favorites though.
