Pours clear, very dark brown. Semi-durable head leaves the glass nearly coated with sticky lacing.
Flavor: Very dark roasted grains and enough hop to make their presence obvious and to make this mildly bitter. Too much char in the finish and aftertaste.

On tap @ Pizza Port Solana Beach. Dark brown, almost black, pour with a khaki head. Nice roasted malt, toast, coffee, and cocoa aromas. Subtle earthiness, a touch of fruit, and mild ash. Tap at Solana Beach. Full haze, deep brown pour with healthy latte foam. Webby lacing. Nose is savory chocolate, melted dark chocolate. Taste is richer, dense milk chocolate, somewhat tart in the finish. Some dairy character. Good stuff.

Loads of rich chocolate in the nose, good roast, char, burnt meat, burnt wood. Medium sweet flavor, some burnt bread, nice roasted balts, sweet dark chocolate, moderate bitter earth. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Rich roasted malt and cocoa to finish, medium sweetness, mild earthy bitterness, lingering charred wood.
