Borresteijn (7742) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 27, 2016
On tap at Uiltje Bar. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, toast, some roast, resin, hint of mocha. Flavour is medium sweet, toast, nuts, toffee, light fruity, light resin, soft bitter finish. Light bodied. OK.

PotjeBier (3994) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 31, 2015
Tap @ Beer Temple, 5 oz taster. Mostly clear, red-brown color. Head is light beige, not much, frothy. Aroma’s: roasted malts, red fruit, hints of chocolate. Retronasal it’s roasted, sweet, mocha-ish. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasted. Body is medium, much fuller than you’d expect from a 4.5% beer. Finishes with roast, rather dry and bitter. Usually not a big fan of brown ales, but this was pretty good.

Donker oranje bier met een goede getinte schuim kraag. Ruikt koffie, chocolade, geroosterd. Smaakt chocolade, vanille, koffie.

Benzai (17009) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 11, 2015
Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub during tap takeover. Clear red-brown color, average sized beige head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, brown sugar. Taste malts, dark malts, caramel, lightly brown sugar, nicely bitter and a touch of hops. Medium body and carbonation. One of the best brown ales I’ve ever had I think.

a well better than average brown ale. heavier on the roasted malts but still with ample caramel cocoa sweetness. liked this, loved the coffee version.

Marheb (6363) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 4, 2015
Chocolat noir, noisettes, grains légèrement rôtis et cendré dans une belle délicatesse maltée. Buvabilité convaincante.
