From growler, many thanks to richiesd! It pours pretty much black, with a thin beige head. The nose is coffee, light roast, milk chocolate, some meatiness, toast and salt. The taste is roasted malt ,milk chocolate, coffee, vanilla, caramel, lactose and coffee liqueur, with a dryish finish. Very well hidden alcohol. Medium body and low carbonation. Light haze on this dark brown beer. Smooth semi dry palate. Very smooth rich coffee. Rich but not quite espresso. Semi dry finish. Hides the abv well.
fresh roasted coffee aroma, viscous dark black pour. Extremely smooth. Roasty, chocolate coffee flavor. Coffee all over, is how id describe this one. Quite enjoyable. Hides the 8% very well. Travlr (25250) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAY 16, 2012

Draught No head, black beer. Pure coffee, coffee dregs, pinch of Jalapeño. Cold coffee, bit of bitter chocolate, very intense. Well-bodied and slick. Kouwe koffie . With a spicy vector. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - APR 22, 2012
Big thanks to yourefragile for bringing this growler over. Served in a Mikasa tulip.
Pours a dark brown color that borders on black with a small off-white head that diminishes fairly quickly, leaving some sparse lacing as it falls.
The nose brings a good amount of chocolate and roast plus a good dose of coffee. Really, really nice coffee in the nose; it smells light fresh coffee beans. Very smooth and creamy. The flavor has more chocolate and coffee, but isn’t quite as well matched. Light sweetness and bitterness.
Body is full and nice creamy. Carbonation is light, leading to a smooth finish without any noticeable alcohol.
Overall this was a big winner. A nice surprise growler that I was more than happy to partake in. hopscotch (11161) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 19, 2012
Growler… Pours “new moon” black with a small, fizzy, beige head that diminishes slowly to a creamy, unending crown. The nose is a swirl of dark-roast whole bean coffee, dark chocolate (mocha) accompanied by a pleasant sliver of vanilla. Medium to full-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and adequate carbonation. The flavor is a perfectly-balanced blast of actor, carbonic coffee. Mid-length, crisp, minerally finish. Lots of caffeine in this baby, but the alcohol is well-hidden. I’m surprised to see the abv clocking in at 9.5%. As the brew nears room temperature a lovely aromatic component of toasted marshmallow is revealed. Crazy drinkable... dangerously so. Muchos kudos to richiesd for shipping this growler my way!
