February 12th, 2012 - Though Pizza Port’s Solana Beach location is flush with all the qualities that make San Diego what it is - pizza, pomegranate red sunsets, the briny scent of the sea, relaxed surfers, and swaying palms - the Booya Steez harkens back to my birthplace, Colorado. Pine practically dribbles over itself in the nose, complemented by a sticky hop resin, and the crisp Rocky Mountain scent of pine cones, dusty and redolent. Bright and regular, the flavor is also quite intense, but it is neither too heavy nor too stick - two problems Double IPAs often get bogged down with. Apple, white grapes and a splash of pineapple give this hoppy brew a bright, sparkling palate and finish, leaving a lemon glow on the palate. Refreshing, full flavored and medium bodied, this is a remarkable IPA that has all the character of a well hopped, well sweetened, well fermented beer, but none of the travails that could prevent a nebbish drinker from appreciating it. This is probably also my favorite Pizza Port beer to date. PhillyCraft (7417) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2012
On tap at brewpub, pours a transluscent bright orange, with circle of film froth in the center of glass. Spider web lacing. Aromas of dank grapefruit, pine needle, malt, citrus, and bread. Taste is kiwi, grapefruit, juicy west coast hopping. Slightly bitter in the middle, finish is all velvet fuel. One of my favorite india pale ales of the trip. Amazing. dnstone (3431) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - MAR 24, 2012
Incredibly fresh hop aroma with a notes of walnut. Golden in color with white head. Seriously hoppy with a lemony fresh finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a very lightly hazed golden-orange hued body with a small but lasting white head with good lace. Aromas are of citrus, mango, papaya, fruity with light caramel notes. Flavors are dry, lots of fruit and citrus. A bit grainy with some alcohol sweetness. Smooth hop character, no sharp bitterness. Medium warming and body with lighter carbonation. GuilTTy (733) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - DEC 1, 2011
On tap at Pizza Port Solana Beach. Hazy orange/amber with a short, quickly dissipating off-white head. Classic grapefruit and pine resin hoppy aroma. Explosion of grapefruit right up front followed by a little milk chocolate, mango and toffee all perfectly balanced on a lightly toasted malt backbone. Mildly creamy, rich texture with plenty of sticky, bitter hops leading to a dry, snappy finish. Beautiful brew. Fitting for the sunset that I was treated to 30 minutes after finishing it off.

Pour was hazy orange with white head, while the other DIPA was a citrus bomb this was a pine and grass bomb, big, big notes of pine and grass led into hints of tangerine, some nice biscuit and toffee in there as well. Taste was pine, and more pine, some slight sweet tangerine led into toffee and caramel notes, led into another wave of pine bitter that was relentless and lasting bitter on the palate. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 30, 2011
Tap at SB PP. Orange pour. Loads of nice grassy hops, some great floral notes and a hint of wildflower honey. Great bitter hop flavor. Good grassy and citrus notes. Great! BeerLimey (2154) - California, USA - AUG 22, 2011
[Draft @ brewpub] Lightly hazed orangey amber hue, decent head formation. Hoppy, almost marijuana like aroma, pretty yeasty. Plenty of yeast and hops on the palate, mild bread, plenty of bitter citrus grapefruit, pineapple and spice, hints of mint and orange. A little rugged but still tastey. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 24, 2011
Pizza port booya steez. On tap at haymarket... Pours a mostly trans
cidery copper brown and topped with a thin film off white head...
Citrus and resiny assertive hop aroma ... Flavors are highly hopped
with a grassy big citrus overtone, somewhat dank and bitter on the
backend. Semi-sweet through the middle and a semi-dry finish.
Bittering persists ling through the finish. Clean with a good body and
