Draft @ Solano Beach: Delicious DIPA, without being too aggressive, be careful the 9.5% ABV is not where to be tasted; can drink a pitcher of this stuff easily with one of there great pizzas.. Drank on a visit to the Pizza Port in Solano Bach, must for Pizza and Beer. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 30, 2011
Tap at SB PP. Orange pour. Loads of nice grassy hops, some great floral notes and a hint of wildflower honey. Great bitter hop flavor. Good grassy and citrus notes. Great! PhillyCraft (7385) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2012
On tap at brewpub, pours a transluscent bright orange, with circle of film froth in the center of glass. Spider web lacing. Aromas of dank grapefruit, pine needle, malt, citrus, and bread. Taste is kiwi, grapefruit, juicy west coast hopping. Slightly bitter in the middle, finish is all velvet fuel. One of my favorite india pale ales of the trip. Amazing. Draft at DLD ’09. A huge surprise to me, (and the biggest pour of the day). Nose was so dank and pungent, filled with catty notes and resin, tropical fruits. This was a big IIPA that I could have drank a ton of. A nice aggressive, but smooth, hoppiness that really kicks you in the teeth and has you asking for more. One of the best IIPAs I’ve had in a long time. Awesome. tokyogoat (1503) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 17, 2009
Poured a golden yellow with no haze and only a hint of a head.
Nose is obviously dominated by hops, but a wide range of scents, pine, pineapple, grapefruit, orange, tangerine, and even a slight hint of lime zest.
Taste is heavy on pine resin, pineapple, and tangerine from hops. Body is perfect for such a hop bomb, not so dry that the hop bitterness beats up your pallet, not so heavy that it competes with the hops. Just the perfect amount of a simple caramel backbone to highlight a great blend of hops. I really wish they would bottle this one.

Tap at the brew pub. Pours a deep golden orange, lightly hazed with a frothy off white head, great lacing. Big nose of pine and citrus fruits followed by faint grainy and caramel qualities. Great hop bitterness on the palate with a long sticky finish......great stuff. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 6, 2010
GABF 09- one of my favorite DIPA’s at the fest. Pours a very light golden yellow- slight hazy with a nice frothy white head- nice lace. Aroma is juicy citrusy hops, grapefruit pine and tons of very fresh weed- with lots of hairs, resin and crystals- oily. Sappy and oily flavor, with almost a dusty hop resin you get at the end of a 1 lb bag of hops- dusty in a good fresh way- piny grapefruit, and tropical- hardly any real malt noticed - finishes dry and very bitter- but awesome. Nice! bdigital (658) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 30, 2009
Draft @ DLD 09: Pour was very generous...orangish in color with a sizeable white head. Damn, the nose on this was huge...notes of pineapple, grapefruit and pine. Very clean tasting...flavor was dry and resiny with a pimped out citrus backbone, mainly grapefruit, pineapple and peach. Great brew. trokini (1025) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 12, 2009
Like my predecessor, I had to take a growler home after having a pint of this. Poured oily orange-gold with a short white head. Thick, sticky lacing. Resiny goodness in the nose, acoompanied by pink grapefruit, ripe orange, mango, and tropical fruit syrup. Sticky, carbonated mouthfeel, and avoids feeling like syrup. More of the same fruit in the taste; heavy grapefruit and blood orange, but with a resin wallop. Tangy, sweet, bitter, and hoppy all atonce. A noticable malt presence in the back, which adds to the long, sticky finish. All the characteristics of a big, big DIPA. doubleo (1432) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 17, 2009
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2009 It WAS on tap at PPSB. Pours hazy orange with a medium size white head, some lace. Smells resiny and citrusy, orange, and good bitterness. Tastes bitter and dark, sweet citrusy and grassy, resiny as well. Full body, slightly syrupy, good carbonation. P.S. the cask version paled in comparison.
