Opaque, deep ruby, near black with fine creamy head and good lacing.
Aroma of bourbon, vanilla and caramel malt.
Taste is sweet with flavors of bourbon and caramel malt. Alcohol is not hidden.
Medium/full body with average carbonation.

On tap @ Toronado SD: Poured in a small 7 oz. glass as a dark mahogany hue with a small thin layer of head. The aroma is heavy with maple syrup and a woody nose. The flavor is thick with a sticky taste of maple syrup and a dab of saltiness that’s similar to soy sauce. On tap at Pizza Port in OB - San Diego. Poured a beautiful medium-dark brown with very little head. The smell was almost all booze and bourbon. Had some nice nutty-ness and some caramel malt, but was too overpowered by bourbon. The taste was more of the same. Bigger play on caramel and wood in the flavor, but still dominated by booze and bourbon. Very sweet. Excellent beer, overall, just could have used some more balance.

Tasted at Triple Rock. Dark brown with a thin head. Strong chocolate, toffee, and alcohol aroma. Smooth tastes of chocolate, caramel, and bourbon. Quite nice.
