CP&K Pizza Port Tap Takeover. Nice to catch up with this after missing it Sour & Bitter due to inebriation! Opaque black beer, short lived pale tan head. Smooth palate with mild fine carbonation that gives it a crispy edge. Classic barrel aged beer - smooth vanilla oak, luxuriant creamy dark malt, mild and well judged bourbon. A little unusual in as much as it’s delivered in a crispy palate. Dangerously drinkable - my half pint went down very easily.
Keg at CPK, London. Pours dark black with a fine, beige foam head. The nose holds molasses, mild burnt wood and dark chocolate. Full flavor, medium to big sweet, with more molasses, some brown sugar, dark chocolate, plums, figs, modest roasted malts. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderate warmth on the finish, with light alcohol, very mild burnt wood, more dark fruits and rich cocoa malts. Excellent beer. The barrel treatment is there but not oppressive. Seamless. Wonderful. rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 10, 2012

On tap at Craft Beer Co. black beer. Too bourbony on aroma. Its another half decent impy stout ruined by a too harsh cant drink it. too hot. mcberko (17847) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 11, 2013
On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma of strong bourbon barrels, and subdued chocolate and roast. Flavour is very strong, with quite a bit of fruit, fusels, and loads of bourbon. Lots of jagged edges, making this exceedingly difficult to drink. Much prefer the regular Night Rider. yngwie (17053) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 13, 2013
On tap at the Carlsbad brewpub. A black one, with a tan head. The aroma is pretty much as the regular Night Rider, but with vanilla and bourbon. Sweeter on the palate, at least it feels so. Boozy and full bodied, with a nice carbonation level. Some warmth. A nice one this as well, but I prefer the regular edition. 130813
