Draft at brewpub. Pale yellow and clear with a moderate white head that diminishes quickly. Mild aroma of soap and hops. Light malty taste with some floral hops and more of the soapiness. Light body and easy carbonation. Unremarkable in most ways. DarkElf (3067) - La Jolla, California, USA - JAN 25, 2005
(Draft: Pizza Port in Solana Beach, CA) Geez, they already have the California Honey Ale on tap all the time, why the need for a second crappy beer on the menu? Isn’t one enough for the tourists? This is as bad as their Honey Ale. This smells and tastes like a cheap pale lager, except that it’s fairly sweet. Mildly bitter in the finish. Thin body with lively carbonation, but it does have a slight smoothness in the palate. Medium yellow color. Small white head dissipates rapidly, leaving a swirl of film and certainly not even a hint of lacing. If Pizza Port can’t make a cream ale I like, then I guess I’ll never like any beers in this style. Of course, the playoff game that isn’t close, and the multitude of kids running around this place aren’t exactly helping my rating experience either. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - DEC 10, 2004
Light gold color. Small head. Aroma is fruity and sweet. A light bodied cream ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are slightly bitter and mild, yet there is a hop bite to this beer. Light and refreshing, crisp and clean. A step above a typical lawn mover beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. hopscotch (11419) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 12, 2004
On tap at Pizza Port, Solana Beach...
This beer is way too light-bodied and flavorless. Pleasant lawnmower beer, but that’s about it. Watery and thin, but still much better than BudMillerCoors. Alcoholist (570) - Peoria, Illinois, USA - JUN 7, 2004
Pale yellow colour with a creamy head. Aroma ia apricots and citrus. Flavour is lightly fruity and sweet.

This brew pours with a pale golden body topped by a medium thick white head with some lacing. The aroma is sweet and fruity (lemons and nectoriines?) with a slight maltiness and a little bitter hoppiness. The flavor is slightly sweet and slightly malty with fruity accents and a touch of hops. Light bodied, smooth and tingly from the carbonation. HoppyBunny (88) - Temptation, Michigan, USA - FEB 15, 2004
Golden clear color. No head, this beer reminds me of my Coors light days! Oh my! Sweet sour taste across your tongue. 21iceman40 (1735) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 19, 2003
For some reason I had it in my head that this would be dark, well its not in fact its pretty damn sunshiney. Not bad, not good, not much of anything really. Just a little sweetness like some honey butter or something like that in the body. unclebleen (620) - California, USA - SEP 29, 2003
Better than I expected from this style. Flavor is sweet and body is dry. Not too bad as a palate cleanser between pints of Hop 15. stubby (334) - Santee, California, USA - AUG 24, 2003
Good, for what it's supposed to be. Very clear and beautiful light golden color, almost straw. I always think of cream ales as what Bud and Coors should have been. Nice interesting finish with a slight bready smack. Almost no hops and almost no flavor whatsoever. Not over carbonated, though very sparkly. Not what I like to drink but good for style.
