Tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Deep brown/black pour. The nose is intensely chocolatey. Lots of soft milk chocolate syrup over a sweet rich maltiness. Not at all brash or roasty. I don’t know if there is chocolate in here, but it would stack up well against any chocolate stout in the chocolate department. Soft sweetness and a thick wheaty texture make this drink like a glass of dessert.

Tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours a deep brown with okay lacing. Nose and taste are loaded with cocoa, dark chocolate, coffee. Taste is a lot like a malted chocolate milkshake. Very yummy. MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 13, 2010
My Bottom Line:badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - MAY 24, 2010
Rich cocoa tops this Stout’s caramel malts, as light roastiness undermines the otherwise smooth and sweet finish.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the coppery dark brown.
-The cocoa provides a beautiful aroma for dessert lovers, but also a few vegetal notes in the flavour profile.
-This might be a tad too intense on the cocoa for my liking, but I know a lot of people who are going to love this.
-The body is rather lean for a sweet stout.
-The finish is quite low on the hop side of things.
On tap at the brewpub.
Black with a fizzy white head. Caramel chocolate molasses aroma and taste with a roasted grain finish and a slightly sticky palate. TomDecapolis (4618) - Milton, Delaware, USA - MAY 13, 2010
Tap at pizza port. Pours a deep black with a medium a medium creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, molasses and caramel. Flavormof
hot fudge, nuts, caramel and toffee. elihapa (1553) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - MAY 9, 2010
Pours pitch black, not too much lacing. Aroma is strikingly bold: roasts, soil, burnt crème brulee, chocolate, toasted biscuit. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate, toasted nuts, and a wonderful smoky tone throughout. Deep flavor for the ABV, the sweetness is mild, well integrated, and 100% tasty.
