3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Amber brown color with no head, crystal clear, aroma is sweet barley, flavor is sweet barley... sort of bland and one dimensional, not a stand out... I really thought that a beer called ’chronic’ would have a big upfront columbus nose. False advertising if you ask me. It was a disappointment but it is a clean ale that is well balanced, just a little bland.
On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad as "Carlsbad Chronic" back in 2010. Clear, light amber pour looking like fruit juice. Taste is fairly sweet with red fruit juiciness: sugar, sweet cherries, strawberries. Wasn’t a big fan. Was expecting something a bit hoppy given the name. On tap, pours a slightly hazy dark orange, almost light brown. Thin head, lacing was medium. Aromas of sweet and german malts, some citrus from the hop nugs. Taste is sweet, with balanced malt profiles dominating, lemongrass, pepper, caramel, woodiness finishes with a honey hop bite. Not the best amber ale but still sessionable and with a name like this you know it is gonna sell. joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - APR 21, 2011
On tap at PP Carlsbad. It pours gold with a white head. The aroma is grainy, and the flavor is very grainy and bready with a medium body and a hint of adjunct sweetness in the finish. Just OK. nbutler11 (1305) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JAN 15, 2011
On tap at PB TapRoom. I expected this to smell as advertised, but I guess this is different than the original recipe. Sweet malty caramel flavor profile that finishes with an odd note of gelatin. Wierd. jredmond (8769) - New York, New York, USA - DEC 20, 2010
Draft at Pizza Port with Linh. Pours a hazy amber brown body with thin lacing. Aroma is very light caramel. Mouthfeel is smooth and thin with notes of sweet caramel malts, and some other fruit.

I don’t agree with the style classification here. This is either an amber or an english pale. Little bit of cramel malt sweetness and a lotta bit of grassy herbal hops. Much more an english IPA. anders37 (27226) - Malmö, SWEDEN - NOV 9, 2010
Draft @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with some weak hints of smoke. Sweetish malty caramel flavor with some weak hoppy hints and some weak hints of smoke. Has a sweetish malty caramel finish. faroeviking (11252) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - OCT 28, 2010
