After an initial whiff seems a little light on the coconut (the smoke and porter were more dominant) I was blown away by the unique flavor bursting with coconut (especially in the finish) with smoked and roased malts and a decent amount of chocolate. I’ll score the flavor super high on uniqueness alone. Very enjoyable. A little bigger aroma and body and it would be among the best."

Tap at PPC. Low haze brown pour with webby lacing. Nose is unassuming, fairly muted without hinting at any smoke or coconut. Taste is spot on with a lot of toasted coconut, coconut oil. Great body. Smoke is completely absent however. Oily palate.

ACHops (1566) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 3, 2013
On tap @ the brewpub in Carlsbad. Pours inky black with medium cream colored head. Aroma is smoky oaky malt. Taste is super roasty dark malt, smoky finish with a bit of vanilla and coconut. The heavy char on the malt pretty much overwhelms what would be a nice subtle sweet coconut finish. Very minimal smoke taste, which tends to dominate when present. Still tasty if you’re in the mood for a dark roasty porter.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with hints of coconut. Slightly sweetish roasted malty coconut and chocolate flavor. has a roasted malty coconut finish with weak smoky hints.
