A: The beer pours a dark brown color with a finger or so of khaki colored head.
S: Smells quite spicy and perhaps even herbal. I get a lot of gingerbread type aromas such as molasses, ginger, and toffee. There’s a bit of a dark fruit aspect to it and perhaps some chocolate.
T: The flavor is very similar to the nose with a big emphasis on the ginger notes. Molasses, toffee, and winter spices make up a lot of the flavor profile. Sweet, but not overly so. Really different...
M: The body is medium with a moderate level of carbonation.

A clear reddish brown bock with a thin brown head. A nice aroma of molasses, ginger, some chocolate, very smooth, In mouth, a sweet dark fruits, prunes, chocolate, bittering herbs, not bad if a bit cloying. Medium bodied. On tap at Carlsbad. Named after the main character in the movie "A Christmas Story". Deep amber pour, small white head, sticky lacing. Aromas of christmas tree, nutmeg, coriander, perfume, apple cinnamon, and cherry pit. Taste is the same with german malts, musky premature hops. Tons of spice and flavor going on. A nice light-roast aroma. Dark brown color. Flavor is sweet, some strain graininess. A pretty roasty malty finish. Nice; not really spicy for a "Christmas" beer.

On tap at PP Carlsbad. It pours dark red/brown with an off white head. The aroma is cinnamon, cherries, a hint of molasses, raisins, and vanilla. UPDATED: APR 1, 2011 thick heavy, very malty, licorice, Lots of nutmeg, Ginger, salt dark cherries. Smooth. Full bodied. Good depth and balance.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ. Cloudy dark reddish brown pour with a lasting one finger tan head and good lacing. HUGE spice on the aroma with a lot going on, and not so much in a good way. Seems like they emptied the whole spice rack into this one. The flavor is decent in a way with a caramel, roast, and molasses base, but it’s overspiced like all hell with TOO much ginger, cardamom, allspice, nutmeg, or something. Medium-full bodied with average carbonation level. This beer could be fine, but the spice just kills it. A rare letdown from Pizza Port.
