scotch ale all the way, which is a style that usually impresses. it was a good beer, but a slightly above average interpretation of the style...i wanted it to be a little heavier, and there was a distinct lack of smokey peat. oh well, otherwise it was malty goodness."

28/12/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Bevuta al Pizza Port Tap Takeover. Color rubino intenso, scuro, riflessi di vinaccia, schiuma leggera e poco persistente. Naso leggermente etilico, caramello, frutta rossa, ciliegie sotto spirito. In bocca è dolciastra, con note di frutta rossa, caramello e alcol che brucia in gola. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione corretta. Una scotch ale più che discreta, molto ben fatta.

Pour is dark brown and gives a large off white head. Nose is light caramel with nice bits of hazelnut and brown sugar dancing around. The taste is sweet with a good unexpected bitterness taking over at the end. Crisp and clean, medium body and a long finish. Nice.

Clear brown color with tan head. Peat smoke, toffee, boozy aromas. Medium body with average co2. Big spicy toffee, peat, smoke, mollasses flavors--good.

Tap at PPC. Clear deep reddish amber with minimum beige foam. Nose is cheap cherry coke, vanilla, brown sugar. Taste is very sweet, oily, rich, dense. Palate is thick, rich, maple syrupy. Not too cloying. Bitter chocolate would be a nice balancer here but it's absent. Still delicious. Dessert beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - JUN 12, 2012
The beer pours a dark amber color with a thin khaki head. Sweet malt, particularly toffee, on the nose with a nice bread and molasses aroma. A touch of peat and quite a bit of dark fruit. Mild alcohol on the flavor with lots of rich malt flavor in the form of toffee, molasses, and toasted bread. Good fruit notes, mild peatiness, perhaps just a hint of cocoa.

PhillyCraft (7709) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2012
On tap, pours a medium bodied maroon color. Small white head circle with not much lacing. Aromas and taste of very sweet malts, dark fruit, and sugary peat. Warming in stomach and somewhat drinkable for the 9.2%

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark red//brown color with a small grey head. The aroma is massive rich fruit and dusty tomes. A nice flavor of rich caramel, heavy sweet candied fruits, very dry. Enjoyable. Very big.
