I had this one on tap at PPSB a while back and I am rating this one to get the style. Nice flavors of malts, and some sweetness.

On-tap @ PPSB. Pours dark brown with red highlights. Small head of large bubbles. Smells of caramelly malts and overripe red fruit, plums. Tastes of sweet malts and caramel, some dark red fruitiness too. Meium body with medium carbonation. Can taste the relation to RP.

User57106 (246) - - JAN 30, 2008
On tap at brewery, 01/26/08. Clear, dark brown with off-white head. No aroma from taster glass. Some dark fruit flavor (plums?), grainy aftertaste that didn’t work very well. Not especially sweet, malty or bitter. In fact, not much flavor, really.

Chalky and one dimensional. Sort of like a brown ale, but without the depth. They could do better.

Cocolate brown with a creamy tan head. Nose was fairly sweet with some dark fruits and malty on the pallet.

Tried at Lost Abbey’s 1st Annual Barrel Tasting. Base beer for Red Poppy, 1/2 finger light tan head that dies quickly. Reddish brown color. Medium body. Very light flavor. Alchohol nose is small. Light hops, with a little grapefruit bitterness. Small sweetness, but leans a little towards dry.
