Draft at Solana Beach. Didn’t realize this was the mild. Maybe I shoulda had it first. oh well. Dark Brown with not much head. Very malty aromas. Chocolate and caramel. Flavor was rather porterish with some more caramel and a lightly dusty finish. OK, for my first mild Ratman197 (14952) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUL 29, 2006

Draught at the brewpub. Nut brown. Dominated by roasty malt, but with a light soapy hop profile to accompany it. The mouthfeel is rounded and firm. A good, simple beer, but a mild would need softer mouthfeel to grab my attention. awaisanen (1304) - Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 5, 2006
UPDATED: APR 1, 2006 On tap at San Clemente. Reddish brown color with a slightly off-white thick head. Relatively bland aroma of a walnuts and roasted almond skins. A hint of rootbeer spice as well. Slightly bitter unsweetened cocoa dimensions. Final smack of a medium roast coffee. Tasty, but nothing extraordinary.

tap at Solana Beach - Dark brown, looks nice. Light roasted malts dominate, giving a smooth, sweet flavor. It’s a bit thin, but quite tastey. Drink up! jimbowood (1036) - Freeport, Georgia, USA - DEC 29, 2005

On tap from the brewpub. Tasted during trip to California. Dark amber too brown in colour. Nice malty nose. Very light beer but very tasteful indeed. A great malty flavour also hint of caramel, remind me of a british brown ale. Walt (2449) - Austin, Texas, USA - OCT 4, 2005
