Tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad with GT2, homeless for a second nighto thanks to wildfires. Heck yeah. Ink pour with smaller coffee foam. Red highlights. Aroma of Tootsie roll, beef jerky, Dry rub steak. Taste is silky, bitter, dense, well hopped. Not as intense as Order in the Port but certainly a better made beer recipe and consistency wise compared to Night Rider. Off batches of Night Rider have plagued Carlsbad recently so I am suspicious. If Death Star is on tap, then scroll past even BA night rider. Keg at PP Carlsbad, 21/04/14.
Black with a moderate tan swirl and edgeing.
Nose is chocolate, light roast, hoppy backnotes, toffee fudge.
Taste comprises dark chocolate, light roasrt, root liqourice, molasses, toffee tang, hoppy overcoat.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Ok easy drinker but way down the league table for imperial stouts in my book, ABV is well hidden but alongside it is any depth to the flavour! ChurchLady (19) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - APR 16, 2014
