On draft at Pizza Port San Clemente, 02/25/08. Clear brown with modest carbonation. Bubble gum aroma. Tastes like bubble gum with a hint of molasses. Simple and not especially yummy.
February 3rd, 2012 - Pizza Port’s Dubbelicious is a strange, Californian twist on the dubbel, not because of anything Pizza Port added per se, but it exhibits a style and interpretation of the Dubbel that is unconventional and even a little flippant. The nose plays by the rules though, with a sharp oakiness, brown sugar sweetness, a tinge of cinnamon, and the gentlest touch of cherry acidity and sweetness. But the flavor is a bit stranger. Perhaps the same ingredient that is at work in the nose is on the tongue too, where a tanginess and an oaken dryness intermingle in a strange but alluring way, leaving a trail of ponzu acidity and umami in its wake. I never expected to find gyoza dipping sauce flavors in a dubbel, but there it is, and I like it. fonefan (48648) - VestJylland, DENMARK - SEP 4, 2013

22/11/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Bevuta al Thanksgiving Day, Bruna, molto bella, gran cappello di schiuma molto persistente. Al naso sentori etti di esteri (banana), che quasi coprono tutto il resto. Note di malto, tostato e cioccolato, ciliegie e alcol. In bocca è dolce ma non troppo, migliore rispetto alle attese ma non eccezionale. Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. Discreta. jesperhammer (4727) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 15, 2012
