Clear, honey-golden color with thin whitish head and a few dots and streaks of lace. Aroma of honey and grapefruit rind. Mouth is medium, dry and smoothe with clean carbonation. Flavor is cookie-cutter, much like the aroma. Dominated by hops, although some sugar and honeyed malts try to speak up early. Grapefruit rind and pine ring home for the hops, although mostly gfruit rind. It was pretty boring, but refreshing and nice.
On tap @ San Clemente. Amber color of spruce resin with practically no white head. Aromas of cedar and spruce and light with a touch of sweet caramel and herbal oregano. Very crisp, bitter hop notes that are dry like an aged pine cone. Long bitter, yet still pleasant finish. Pretty good overall IPA, but I can’t fin any unique traits that would make this beer a standout in any category. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - DEC 20, 2005
Tap @ San Clemente: Slightly hazy orange gold color. Hoppy aroma of citrus and pine. Piney flavor. Moderate size. Mild to moderate bitterness. Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 5, 2005
Strong citrus/floral nose, complementing the usual crystal malts, sweet and earthy. The pour is of a shining golden, the head being white and mostly diminishing. Spicy in mouth, green hop flavours, crisp carbonation, adequate lean to medium body. Typical tasty west coast IPA that has enough vibe and life to avoid boredom, but mostly insubstantial. golden brown color w/ a laced off white head. Crisp citrus hop aroma very basic and clean. Oily well coated smooth palate. Grapefruit and a nice balanced carmel malt flavor. Very good IPA.
