Pours a nice golden color with a bit of a white head and lacing, but not as much as I would expect from a tripel. The nose brings some spice and fruit as well as some light grain sweetness. The taste is mostly spice and fruit without too much else, though what is there is a bit nice. Feel is nice with some spice and fruit with good carbonation. Drinks fairly well, but doesn’t stand up to the Belgian examples of the style.

Draft at Mikkeller Bar. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of malt, spice and fruit. Flavour is malt, fruit, spice, some caramel sweetness and yeast. Medium body and carbonation.

On tap at the brewpub in San Clemente. Pours a clear, golden-yellow-orange body with a thin, snow white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a soft, delicate lacing. Aroma is sweet and bready. Lots of ripe bananas and a bit yeasty. Some sweet grassy hops in the back. Similar flavor with lots of bready malts. Belgian fruitiness from the yeast, banana, and a bit of hops. Definitely more sweet than spicy. Palate is full and malty, smooth, and has a slow, subtle dry finish. Overall, not bad. From tap at the San Clemente brewpub. Pours clear and golden orange with no head. Light grassy and solid caramel malty aroma. Draft at Avery Strong Ale Fest 2010. Pours a perfect urine yellow with a small white head. Nose of esters, spice, alcohol, hops.
