From tap at the OB location. Pours hazy dark brown to lack with a small tan and creamy head. Aroma is roasted dark malty. Light fruity note. Mild tarish, dense malty yet not overly roasted. Smooth malty finish. Travlr (24745) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 17, 2011
Draft. Black, with creamy eggshell white head. Nice smoked chocolate aroma. Thin bodied, but decent. Could be drier. saxo (18301) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 18, 2012
Tap @ Pizza Port, Ocean Beach. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are caramel, nuts, toasted malt and hops. Easy drinkable and slightly watery. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 26, 2011
A: The pour is nearly black in color with a finger of creamy, dense, tan head.
S: Smells of coffee and roasted malts with some bitter dark chocolate character, too. A touch of earthy hop character. Just a hint of sweetness, sort of like molasses.
T: The flavor is definitely watery, more so than I often find with other nitro beers. The same coffee, roasted malt, and dark chocolate flavors are there, but the intensity is not.
M: Thin bodied with the typical nitro carbonation.
O: Far too watery tasting and too thin on the tongue. Could have been better with a bit more body. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUL 19, 2012
(Draught) Pours an opaque black body with a medium creamy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted grain, raisins, and minerals. Flavor of roasted grain, caramel, chocolate, and coffee with a dry finish.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours black with a medium creamy tan head that recedes slowly to a dense film. Rings of lacing. Roasty aroma of malt and coffee. Light to medium body with a roasted malt character and notes of coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is dry with a short malt aftertaste. Decent overall. slowrunner77 (12043) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 24, 2014
"Another textbook example of the style. Dry and light, without lacking at all in flavor. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate all in good measure. Nothing that stands out but solid in every aspect." daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 3, 2011
Nearly black, creamy nitro head. Coffee, roast and cocoa aroma. Dry and toasty with great notes of chocolate and espresso. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 8, 2010
Nitro at Pizza Port San Clemente. Pours a clear ruby topped with a thick, whipped cream head that leaves awesome sheety nitro lace. Fresh, floral nose with some smoked meat character. Taste is fully, smokey, meaty, medium to light-bodied with a great, nitro palate. blipp (9268) - La Mesa, California, USA - SEP 28, 2012
Draft. Pours deep brown with a beige head. Nutty roasted malts, toasted grain, and a medium sweetness. Good stuff.
