Hazy orange gold color with a small off white head, no lacing. Strong citrus, piney, grapefruit hop aroma. Bitter hops, citrus fruits, light alcohol. Very nice IIPA punch. Very enjoyable, I like these west coast IIPAs. Indra (2711) - Suburbia, Kansas, USA - JUL 6, 2004
Hugely piney, citric, juicy hop aroma, some floral and spice accents, notes of grapefruit and pineapple and a small amount of toasty, honeyish malt sweetness. Light-medium copper color, lightly hazy with a diminishing head and a lack of visible effervescence. Flavor profile is likewise dominated by hoppiness, fruity and strong, but the bodifying and rather sweet malt serves to balance quite nicely. Lightly spicy, moderately bitter finish. Smooth, lightly syrupy, sticky palate, full-bodied to be sure. This is a deceptively massive beer. JCW (1278) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 2, 2004
Sweet piney aroma. Perfect color for an IPA pours with a frothy white head. Its a well hopped IPA, but the interesting thing about it is how well its balanced out by the crystal and pale malts. Not alot of bitterness. Creamy mouth feel. Sweet finish with a lingering pine flavor. Very good IPA. THANKS SECRET SANTA! elnadeau (786) - Laguna Niguel, California, USA - JUN 23, 2004
Bottle. Pours an attractive copper color with a medium-sized fine white head that dissapates but hangs around with nice lacing. Aroma is sweet citrus with mucho hops. Nice malt character and smooth mouthfeel, as expected hops dominates from there on. Good balance, very nicely crafted. I hope to do a side-by with Ruination and other heavy hitters in this style, I believe this would fare very well. JCapriotti (1379) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 23, 2004
Average sized fizzy off-white head with long life, and a golden amber body. Nice spicy, sugary cascade hop aroma. Sweet caramelly/sugary grapefruit taste, with a slightly thick resiny mouthfeel. Seems like a tame Dreadnaught, which is perfectly fine! I don't say this often, but special thanks to Sick_Boy for getting this stuff out to Milwaukee!

Orangey amber with a creamy head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity, flavour is same with a spicy bite at the end. Alcohol is well hidden and it has a very smooth mouthfeel. JohnC (3008) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - JUN 6, 2004
On draft, Pizza Port San Clemente. Beautiful orange/brown with a tight, creamy, head. What really impressed me was the creaminess of this hop-monster! Lots of hop flavor & aroma, but a terrific mouthfeel that was smooth & creamy. Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAR 21, 2004
UPDATED: OCT 7, 2004 Interesting, orangey-brown with a great head. Nice presence on the tongue; richly smooth and thickish. Big piney hops up the nose. Cookie, cakey malts. Awesome hop flavors and aromas. Some spice and citrus as well. Tremendously well-balanced with a nice level of bitterness. I really liked this one! Wow! This is a great beer! The brew pours with an orange-amber body topped by a thin head with some lacing left behind. The aroma is sweet and grapefruity with a great hop note and a touch of mango. The flavor is sweet yet so bitter with strong mango notes and grapefruity notes, as well as, a good maltiness. Medium to full bodied and smooth as hell. A great double IPA. Nice over the top hops with a significant malt backing. For the style this is pretty balanced. Citrusy, bitter, and tasty.
