12 oz Bottle: Pours a cloudy orange color with a smallish white somewhat lasting head. Aromas were big and bold, lots of hops, fruit and pine, some stank malt as well. Flavor is absolutely amazing, starts off quite bitter and grapefruity, then mellows slightly into a citrusy (orange mostly) weak bitterness, its final transformation leaves the taste of sweet peaches in your mouth. Finishes so smooth and sweat, great full mouthfeel. fordest (2470) - Santee/San Diego, California, USA - AUG 31, 2005
12 oz bottle from Holiday. Hazy amber orange color with very little head. Aromas were sweet citrus. Flavors were outsanding. Hoppy citrus, sugar cane, vanilla, pine, and other floral accents. Smooth and chewy finish. Absolutely wonderful. willblake (2654) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - AUG 30, 2005
08.30.05 12oz bottle. Hazed copper-amber pour with small but lasting, sticky white head. Massive c-hop aroma is full of grapefruit pith, pine, and stone fruits. Juicy. Mouthwatering. Flavors start out with some biscuit and shortbread notes and quickly turn to smashing hops. Thin but sticky palate is resinous and full of grapefruit pith. Very bitter, but also very fruity. It’s got great balance and is not at all cat pissy. Nice, thanks Mike. wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 27, 2005
Vivid and cloudy amber-red hue with a large, creamy, white head. Beautifully robust and fresh hop aroma...pineapple, apricot, citrus, herb. Delish. Wonderful nose of tropical fruits. Caramel, toasted white bread malts play second fiddle. Strong but never harsh or pungent bitterness throughout. Moderate balancing sweetness. Very low acidity, all things considered. Medium-full body with a wonderfully creamy texture and lively carbonation. A little more malt diversity would go a long way with me. There’s just a *touch* of alcohol in the finish. You know, this reminds me a lot of Dale’s Pale Ale, just a bit bigger. Great stuff, thanks to Kem and Mike for hooking me up big time!!! (Coconut Pete wouldn’t try any!) Thanks Tom. Bronzed color with a light beige head and decent lacing. Aromas of mild herbs, and plenty of hops (some hopsack with is good). Mild malt undertones make me wish for more. Dry flavors of malt, honey and nuts. Seems a bit more traditional as far as IPAs or IIPAs go. A very dry example. Haven’t decided if it is good or bad yet. I long for a rerate.

Super yummy big unfiltered double IPA. Quite sweet, they left in lots of sugar. Honey and hints of citrus. Head is creamy but not thick. Full bodied. Delish. StewardofGondor (1934) - Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 15, 2005
Pale, murky and hazy pale gold in color. Shadow like head. Clean grapefruit, mango, pineapple and papaya aroma, igniting passion fruit awareness and high aspirations. Grapefruit strikes a bitter cord with some malty sweetness to follow it up. Medium bodied, turning all attention to the bittering agents at work. Quick palate sweeping that slices a layer of taste buds in the process. A very well executed I2PA. Thanks for bringing this CaptainCougar! 1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 15, 2005
Thanks Jason. This one pours to a hazy straw colored body with a thin white head. The aroma is oranges and citrus. Very hoppy. The flavor is bitter and hoppy. Oranges and caramel, light citrus. The palate is medium light and smooth. MIBRomeo (2570) - Wisconsin, USA - AUG 15, 2005

Light cloudy off brown yellow color w/ a small head. Big grass & citrus hop aroma w/ a malty backbone. Palate is even, smooth, and well coated but could definatelly be bigger. Flavor is a big grass & citrus hop some carmel and spice w/ a nice bitter finish. Good stuff.
Rerated at GABF... one of my favorite beers ever... creamier and crisper than I remembered. beeryum (652) - Norcross, Georgia, USA - AUG 8, 2005
Bottle. Yellow orangey gold pour. Huge grapefruity piney resinous aroma. Huge citrus fruity and caramel sweet malty flavors, balanced very very well. Appropriate big bitter lingering bite. Very well done IIPA.
