From bottle. Poured a cloudy, dull orange with no head and minimal lace. Nose is a delectable sent that reminds me of a strawberry fruit roll-up. Flavor is of an orange, pineapple citrus that mellows into a smooth and sweet bitter finish. Alcohol noticeable, but adds nicely to the overall taste. Mouth-feel is spot on. A wonderful brew. hellomynameis (877) - Mayer, Minnesota, USA - JUL 1, 2006
Wow! This is one fantastic IIPA. The aroma is filled with wonderful hops, mixes of floral, citrus, resiny. All in perfect balance. The taste...oh is right! It just feels like it’s full of rich sweet malts and has a wonderful blast of hop flavour that isn’t overly bitter and not bland and under done. It’s such a great melody of flavours in my mouth, well blended, great flavour. My only regret is that it’s not available locally. footbalm (1219) - Western Minneapolis Suburbs, Minnesota, USA - SEP 21, 2004
Golden amber orange with a nice creamy head.Hazy.A Reeeeaaaallll treat for the schnaaazola. Not that "just a blast of grapefruit Hops" that a lot of Dbl IPA’s have but more like you are standing in between the floral shop and the fruit counter at your local food co-op.These are put together masterfully and I do not want to take my nose out of the glass. The sweetness here is nowhere near some of the other Dbl’s I have had.The body carries the flavors into a fine finish. Thanks to cquiroga for this fine brew. obxdude10 (2358) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 31, 2004
Thanks to JohnC for hooking me up with this, awesome double IPA, hazy & somewhat cloudy appearance, light orange color, generous soft off-white head, nice lacing around the glass, huge hop aroma, but also had a very nice touch of malt as well, very floral & grassy nose, full-bodied, excellently balanced, the hops get your first in the flavors & body then a full assault of malt to back it all up, dry & bitter, very flavorful, very hoppy & dry finish & aftertaste, great imperial ipa

Beautiful amber color. Strong perfumy aroma, pleasant, inviting; hoppy, fruity. Balanced taste, beween the strong bitterness and the big sweetness.

hazy orange colour, nice foamy head and a correct lacing, strong hoppy nose: apricot, flowers and cream, full-bodied, low carbonation, very strong bitterness, long bitter flowery finish - strong charatcer and a nice balance for this wonderful IPA - Thanks Per for this one and fiulijn for sharing it ! Light cloudy off brown yellow color w/ a small head. Big grass & citrus hop aroma w/ a malty backbone. Palate is even, smooth, and well coated but could definatelly be bigger. Flavor is a big grass & citrus hop some carmel and spice w/ a nice bitter finish. Good stuff.
Rerated at GABF... one of my favorite beers ever... creamier and crisper than I remembered. wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 27, 2005
Vivid and cloudy amber-red hue with a large, creamy, white head. Beautifully robust and fresh hop aroma...pineapple, apricot, citrus, herb. Delish. Wonderful nose of tropical fruits. Caramel, toasted white bread malts play second fiddle. Strong but never harsh or pungent bitterness throughout. Moderate balancing sweetness. Very low acidity, all things considered. Medium-full body with a wonderfully creamy texture and lively carbonation. A little more malt diversity would go a long way with me. There’s just a *touch* of alcohol in the finish. You know, this reminds me a lot of Dale’s Pale Ale, just a bit bigger. Great stuff, thanks to Kem and Mike for hooking me up big time!!! (Coconut Pete wouldn’t try any!) 11026 (1772) - Alabama, USA - MAR 4, 2006
Bottle from DarkElf. Pours a hazed up medium amber color with no head formation to speak of even with a vigorous pour. Aroma is a fantastic blend of malt and hop. Generous doses of pine resin, citrus rind and a lightly raisiny malt aroma. Very well blended nose and enticing. Full bodied, nearly chewy with a lower carbonation level. Piney hop flavor blends with a sweet caramel malt backbone to harmonize well. Moderate sweetness is cut by a citric bitterness. A fantastic double IPA. jennajlover (135) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 15, 2006
Big bubbly cloudy double IPA, incredibel hop aroma and flavor, slight sweet from use of malts, although the body was perfect for such a big brew. Nice bitter crisp finish
