On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Clear medium-dark brown in color with a nice off-white head. Aroma is malty with nuts, brown sugar, and roast. Flavor is nice for a brown ale, with more brown sugar than usual, along with caramel malt, roast, nuts, molasses, and a touch of hops. Body and carbonation are medium and finish is slightly dry. On tap at Stone. Cola brown with a thick tan head. Fades to solid lace. Nose is serious roasted malt. Strong. Brown sugar there too. Malt taste is high in the mouth. Not as strong as the nose. Bit of tartness hiding in there. The ring absolutely destroyed the glass. DSG (14685) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JAN 18, 2009

Tap at the Local. Deep dark brown beer. Aroma is lightly toasty with a soft lightly herbal/chocolate brown malt base. Herbal and toasty aroma with a nice soft hoppiness. Fairly drinkable, but as always, the brown ale just isn’t my thing. Snojerk321 (2960) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 21, 2008
tap at The Local. Pours a clear, deep brown color, not much head to speak of. Big time toasted malts on the nose as well as the flavor. Really big and full bodied for your standard brown ale. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - OCT 20, 2008

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Low aroma. Same appearance as great american brown, maybe slightly darker. Maybe a hint sweeter. No roastiness. Not as good as great american brown. danielcurtis81 (1519) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 20, 2008
SDFOB-2008. Draft. A very good brown ale. Some different banana flavors that are tasty. Some brown sugar and cinnamon too. An excellent session beer.
