On tap @ Pizza Port Bressi Ranch. Clear golden orange with a white head. Sweet caramel and bready malt with a slight toasted character. Spicy and earthy hops on the nose with some citrus notes. Flavor is fairly sweet with a moderate bitterness. Lots of caramel and bread. Really grassy, earthy, and spicy. Kind of woody on the finish. Perhaps old? Tap at Pizza Port-Solana Beach. Pours a very nice clear orange. Interesting hops on the nose, hard to describe but there is some citrus notes. Flavor is citrusy, bready and quite good. Not sure on these hops, I like them, but they are new and confusing GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 10, 2014
Short: A soft and fruity IPA with mega volatiles in the nose
Origin: Tap at Pizza Port Solana Beach Size: 3oz taster Glass: Cylinder Price: $1-2 Date: 1/9/14
Long: Good lacing from a clear orange pour. Pool water and dog breath volatile nose. After waiting 8-10 minutes, the volatiles have dissipated and you get some wild exotic hops that I have never experienced before (Kahatu): wild berries topping an alcoholic creme brulee. Taste is sticky kumquat, orange peel, Hawaiian roll, big West Coast IPA butterscotch requirement. Sharp Brazil nut IBU power in the finale.
Flaws: Requires patience to enjoy, too many volatiles
Skill Level: High; on the right track for this experimental series
