Pitch black with lots of lasting tan head. Great Imperial Stout aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, and vanilla - I picked up some bourbon as well and had to double check with the bartender that this wasn’t the barrel aged version (it wasn’t). Taste is creamy with lots of chocolate and roast. Slightly bitter but more on the sweet side.

A: The pour is pitch black with a thin layer of mocha colored head that sticks around for a surprisingly long time.
S: A really rich and sweet nose on this beer. Lots of burnt sugar, licorice, and dark fruits to begin with. The roasted malt character is intense (as is the coffee) and there’s a bit of a dark chocolate thing going on as well.
T: The roast and coffee start things off with a big bitter kick. That dies away quite abruptly and the sweetness really comes through. Lots of licorice, burnt sugar, molasses, and alcohol.
M: The body is on the full side with a medium but smooth carbonation.
