Sweetish aroma. Tan head; dark looks great. This is a very thick beer. Very nice grainy hop flavor. tasty beer. BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - JUN 13, 2009
Tap at 2009 DLD (listed as Infamous Chocolate Imperial): Black with creamy beige head and clingy lace. The aroma has notes of chocolate and vanilla, ashy malt, some coffee and hop bitters, anise and clove, and a hint of mint. The taste is rather expected, sweet dark malts balanced by hop bitterness supported by light coffee and spice notes. The finish is ashy and a tad metallic as well, the weak spot of the brew IMO. The mouth feel is lush and sticky, some alcohol warming noted upon the ending. Overall, a very nice Imperial stout, good balance and not too sweet. TimE (6425) - Tokyo, JAPAN - APR 1, 2011
hugely rich chocolate nose with treacles and dark fruit. Fresh brownies. Well balanced mildly sweet mouth. Just brownies. Full bodied. Well balanced. Highly enjoyable. Alcohol well hidden for 10%.

On draft at brewery, another big big stout. This one is sweeter than the others. Good thick body on it though. JohnnyJ (5575) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 7, 2009
On tap at the SD Strong Ale Fest 09. Pours a pitch black with fluffy large tan head. Chocolate nibs, roasted malt, vanilla, espresso, and bourbon. Just what a huge imp stout should be. Very tasty.

Black with a creamy tan head. Sweet chocolate aroma. Chocolate coffee and cereal grain taste with a nice roastiness throughout. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - DEC 25, 2009
Tasted at the 13th Annual Strong Ale Fest on 12/4/2009. This Imperial Stout pours a dark black color from the tap. Small to medium sized tan foamy head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, cherries and some bourbon. A full bodied Russian Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate and coffee with a touch of wood and bourbon. The hops are earthy and herbal. Nice balance. Decent carbonation. The chocolate flavors really dominate in this beer, but they mix well with the bourbon flavors. Hides the 10% alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Martinus (4790) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - NOV 9, 2015
Black brown colour, beige head. Aroma of vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Sweet flavour, quite bitter, chocolate, malts, coffee. Rather thick. Bitter finish.Aniela (4215) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 17, 2015

On tap at Boulder Strong Ale Fest (2014). Pour is deep black with a frothy brown head and good lacing. Big coffee, vanilla, cocoa, roast, toffee, and somewhat grassy aroma. Taste is cocoa nibs, earthy hops, Sumatra, caramel, vanilla, and toasted malt. Sweet velvety mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Awesome stout and easily one of the best offerings of the fest.
