Tap at Cap Hop. Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is rather cooked chocolate caramel. Med minus body. LIghtly hoppy in an earthy way. Very mildly chocolate. Yet the flavor as a whole is substantial. A rather pleasing departure from all those higher ABV brews. We need more of these - with the caveat that they need to taste this good. blipp (10184) - La Mesa, California, USA - APR 7, 2017
Draft. Pours brown with a beige head. Bready and sweet malts, toast, rye (?), low bitterness, and a clean toasty malty finish. Good stuff. rlgk (18843) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 12, 2014
Draught at Stone World Bistro Liberty Station, San Diego. Malty fruity aroma, caramel, grass, roasted, soot notes. Malty fruity flavor, soot, hay, licorice, burnt wood. Roasted malt finish with fruity notes. Thin bodied. o_Merlin_o (235) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 1, 2014
Draft pour from Pizza Port Carlsbad (Bressi Ranch). Aroma of banana, pine nuts, and slight pine tree. Most of the flavoring hits the tip of the tongue, and then the very back. Slight alcoholic palate. Strangely, this is quite an aqueous beer (doesn't match the extremely dark coloring). Okay beer.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma is roasted malt and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, roasted nuts and hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall. Meilby (11831) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 13, 2013

On tap at the brewpub. A clear brown beer with a light beige head. Roasted, light coffee-ish aroma with some dried fruits. All a bit weak. The flavor too is roasted, with caramel notes and some bitterness. Some prunes. Medium to thin on the palate, soft. Roasted finish with some caramel. Tasteful and easy drinkable, but lacking a little on complexity. 130813 Geokkjer (7676) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 13, 2013
