On tap at Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out tons of dark chocolate, dark cocoa powder, and a little roasted malt. Flavour is rich, full of rich dark chocolate, some dark cocoa powder, and a touch of roast. Very rich and full-bodied, full of chocolate richness, while being nice and dry on the mouthfeel. Opaque brown-black with a dark tan head and excellent lacing.
Aroma of coffee, roasted malt and chocolate.
Taste of chocolate, roasted malt, toast, coffee and bitter cocoa.
Medium/full body and medium/low carbonation.

Tap sample. Poured a black color with a moderate to large frothy brown head that lasted and produced sticky layers excellent lacing. Medium to heavy roasted sweet chocolate malt, licorice, dark fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy complex dark sweet stout flavor with a heavy smooth dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Very well balanced complex stout. This is a standout beer. On tap at PP Carlsbad. Beautiful midnight pour with a dense mocha head that left significant lacing. Slightly lighter than its BA version when held to light (surprising). Amazingly rich and unique base beer with all of the complementing qualities present. Godiva chocolate, Hershey syrup, and Nestlé Quik cocoa powder are there. Soakes up all that compliments it...whatever the brewer wants to add. Delicious on its own but benefits from other treatments!

Pours big and black as "night" with a huge brown head. Nose is coffee, chocolate, wood, , dark fruits, nuts and grass. A lot going on in the nose. The taste is a perfect balanced bittersweet with a slight coffee tart tinge that really gives the taste a unique dimension. 03/11/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Nera, densa, impentrabile, schiuma color cappuccino, abbondante e incredibilmente persistente. Al naso sentori di malti tostati, caffé, leggero cacaco, liquirizia, note di pane bruciato. In bocca è prevalenetemente amara, con note di malti tostati, crosta di pane bruciato, caffé. thick black pour, half finger of creamy caramel head. Nose is big roasted chocolate and coffee. Thick mouthfeel, big roasted espresso taste. Quite fantastic, as is every variant of this beer that I’ve had.
