Sampled from the tap at the OB location. Pours a deep, dark brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of coffee with sweet dark grains and some roasted malts underlying. Flavor combines coffee and roasted malts well with dark grains and a hint of sweetness supporting.

From notes. Enjoyed at Corbetís house warming on April 23.16 oz can. The pour is a nice darker black with a thick light khaki colored head and a few spots of lace as it froths down to a film and thick ring. The aroma is really malty and roasty. There is a pretty good coffee going on, but the chocolate and a light bitterness slowly move through. This is definitely not as good as I thought it would be. Itís just a little messy with the chocolate and the coffee fighting the roast. The flavor is much of the same. There is a sharpness of alcohol on it with a light chocolate and the roasty malt. Itís bitter, but decent. The mouth feel is a touch light with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly bitter chocolate and coffee on the finish. There is a little more roasted malt and alcohol than Iíd like to see. Not awful.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2017 Can from the OB brewery. Pours very dark brown with a thin, fizzy head. Tastes like roasted malt, smokey wood, burnt toast, and roasted coffee. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like dark chocolate malt, roasted, smokey wood, burnt toast, and light ash.

Can from a trade into a wine galss showing pitch black with half a finger of latte colored foam. The nose shows a lot of mocha, coffee, and light bacon notes. The palate is thick but not fully foamy with respect to carbonation. Flavors of dark coffee and dark chocolate. Finish is mocha and caramel. Nice.

tap @ tap & bottle: hm.. Well, the title and description are not lying, this is one coffee-heavy imperial porter. For me, the green coffee flavor, often prevalent in cold brew that has been soaked for a long time, is just overpowering on the nose. The typical porter or imperial porter notes of caramel and roasted malts are undetectable behind the huge wall of soaked coffee. The taste is actually quite nice and very much like I would expect from the style, ample sweetness but also a little bit of balancing bitterness and astringency. On the aftertaste, the coldbrew starts to mingle in with the more malt-based aromas of caramel and toffee but thatís a little too late for me. I really wished that I would like this one better.

On tap at Harryís Hofbrau. Pours black with limited brown head. Great coffee aroma and flavor. Rich and robust flavors. Well rounded flavors throughout.

Pours black with a foamy, medium beige head. The aroma is big on both coffee and roasted malts, along with lighter amounts of chocolate and smoke. Chocolate and coffee dominate the taste. I still find a healthy amount of roasted malts. There are minor amounts of caramel and licorice, and a long aftertaste of chocolate. All of this is accompanied by some mild sweetness. Medium bodied, creamy in texture, and soft in carbonation. Solid.

[email protected] Trappiste - black beer with a moderate beige foam left; solid aroma of coffee with notes of hazelnuts and vanilla; full-bodied, sweet, rounded and clean palate; fairly bitter and with a long aftertaste of roasted coffee beans and tobacco

Type: .25L draft Glass: Panama 66 snifter From: Tiger! Tiger! in North Park (San Diego), Calif. Price: $7.00 Purchased: Dec. 20, 2016 Consumed: Dec. 20, 2016 Reviewed as: American Porter Misc.: N/A Had been wanting to try this one for some time now and saw it for the first time at Tiger! Tiger! Would have insta-purchased it, but had already insta-purchased a Dogfish Head 120. Looking forward to this one. Poured a pitch black color with 3-to-4 fingers of frothy khaki-tan head when I got it. Tiny amount of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Very good spotty lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25) Smelled black coffee, bitter dark chocolate, char wood, ashtray, anise, black licorice, roasty malts, almost cigarettes, burnt molasses and dark fruits. (Smell - 3.75) Tasted much better than the nose. Got mocha, black coffee, char wood, ashtray, dark chocolate, anise, black licorice, roasty malts, nutty molasses and dark cocoa. (Taste - 4.50) Full body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.25) This got much better as it went down. Great for this time of the year. (Overall - 4.25) 4.23 94 A-
