A: The beer pours a pale yellow color with a dense, white head. BMan1113VR (7930) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 31, 2011
S: The nose is certainly very sweet. Quite a lot of malt with a bit of table sugar to it. There is a light banana and fruit aroma (apples and pears) and a very light spice note.
T: A bit more spicy than the nose leads on. Heavy on the apples, in fact, a bit of a spiced apple cider quality is there. Of course, there is still some banana as well as bready malt and a bit of table sugar.
M: The body body is medium and the carbonation is medium.
O: Having this after Spaceman was probably a bit unfair as that beer was just very good. I liked this, but it wasn’t quite as well done.
On tap. Pours with a very nearly clear pale golden body with a large white head. Aromas of coriander, dryness, pepper, esters, pear, grainy and bready, candi sugar. Flavors are dry, grainy and quite estery. Pepper, candi sugar, marmalade. Grainy. Dry, warming and complex. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - DEC 31, 2011
Clear light yellow with a fizzy white head. Cereal grain and light barley aroma. Bready and sweet malty taste with light fruity notes. Not bad. pantanap (3367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 17, 2011
On tab at ob... Pours a golden almost transparent consistency and topped with a fluffy white head... Semi-sweet banana Belgian esthers... Not too complex with honey and a lighter Belgian yeast banana. Crispy dry middle and finish. Not too heavy of a body and a little refreshing actually. Reminds me of duvel for some reasn with a little more of a yeasty character. pushkinwow (2910) - Ottawa, CANADA - JUL 25, 2011
Sample on tap at OB. Pale bubbly yellow with off white head. Mild belgian yeast, caramel, huge grains. Sweet, medium carbonation and body, don’t like the sweetness though - the grains and malt almost make it like corn syrup with light belgian spice and yeast. Balance is also off - would avoid this one again.

On tap @ PPOB - Pours a hazy light golden color with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor is full of esters, spice and yeast. Finish is a little sweet and estery. Medium to full body. A decent beer. iowaherkeye (2804) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Tulip at OB. Clear gold with a small white head, a dozen nucleation points shooting up a steady stream of bubbles. Yeasty banana nose with some spicy white pepper, some toasted malt, candi sugar and alcohol. Flavor adds some wet paper, a little less fruit and banana, pretty dry with a bit of alcohol. Dry finish with bitterness at a 2. Medium body with prickly carbonation. I liked this better a week ago, as I didn’t notice the oxidation, and it seemed crisper. Draft via shane @ ob port. Bright gloowing pour...thin white head. Sour and wheaty nose. Spicy thick and sweet wheaty flavors...a bit overly spicy, sweet, and wheaty for my tastes...a bit cumbersomb really...smells a lot better than it actually tastes...too much hotness and sweetness in this thing, really. Whatever. SDalkoholic (2434) - Linda Vista, California, USA - FEB 10, 2012
On tap @ Pizza Port Ocean Beach: poured a sparkling golden liquid with millions of carbonation bubbles rising to the top while a soapy layer of foam head graced the top. The nose was spicy with a true authentic smell of Belgian strong ale yeast. The flavor was spicy with a peppery taste paired with cloves yet there is also a fruity flavor banana. Finishes nice and soft. beersearcher (2383) - Glendale, California, USA - JUL 30, 2011
Pours a pretty gold. And this is certainly a Belgian strong. Big yeast taste with some spice on the back followed by a lot of alcohol burn. This is a deceptive beer that is also pretty tasty.
