Moderate prickly carbonation with a light body. Solid brown. 7-3-8-3-14--3.5 JorisPPattyn (10072) - BELGIUM - MAY 8, 2012
Draught Amber-red with a whitish rim. Lighter and intenser darker coloured malts, chocolate or ’brownies’, nutty, bready and mineral wafts. Dullish sweet, with non-bitter cacao, and some interesting leafy/autumnal flavours. Light body, spritzy to fizzy carbonation, bit empty finish. Well... light. On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a clear chestnut-brown body with a small, just off-white head. Aromas are nutty, maple, brown sugar and light chocolate. All malt. Flavors are nutty, almond, mildly roast, brown sugar, decently dry, creamy, somewhat substantial carbonation. Really solid brown! nickd717 (4886) - San Francisco, California, USA - OCT 12, 2011
Draft. Wow, appetizing name for this one. Brown in color, as you’d expect, with a small light tan head on top. Nutty aroma with sweet caramel and a touch of earthy hops. The flavor is good, but could stand to be more assertive. Maris Otter malt base evident with nuts, caramel, and cocoa. The mouthfeel is a bit watery, and carbonation is average. Solid attempt at the style overall despite the palate shortcoming.
