Dark brown in color with a khaki head Nose is mildly roasty. Some toasted malt, a bit of cocoa, nice earthy hops, and a toffee sweetness. A hint of coffee grounds, too. The flavor is decently sweet from the toffee and chocolate notes. A bit of bitter roast, coffee, and cocoa powder. Some earthy hops and toasted malt sweetness. jredmond (8445) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 13, 2011
Draft at Pizza Port Solana Beach with Andrew, Brendan and the big boy daddy dad Bachelor, Dallas. Pours a deep brown body with no head. Aroma is malt, nut and bread. Mouthfeel is thin, not too much flavor but nothing bad at all. Sessionable brown ale. hivemind (918) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 12, 2011
On tap at Pizza Port (Carlsbad) with Andy, James and Dallas for Dallas’ bachelor weekend. Black pour with a pale, brown head. Fresh and subtly roasty aroma. Perfect balance of hops and nuts (more hops). Good, which I don’t say often for browns. AcctError54399 (1962) - Manhattan, New York, USA - SEP 10, 2011

old Gabf. Dark copper. Aroma is nuts and sweet and candy. Flavor follows a basic brown but very solid. Tmoney99 (14764) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 15, 2011
Tap sample. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt, nuts aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a good brew.

Dark brown color with mahogany shades. Very dark color, with mahogany/red shades, and a beautiful necklace. The aroma is immediately cheesy and yeasty, not what expected, but appreciated somehow. Chocolate flavor, with some sweetness, and a very strong yeast presence (less interesting here than the aroma); bold bitterness; the alcohol warmth is perceived more than expected.
De barril brown colour, off-white head. Aroma: roasty malt and caramel, bit chocolate, fruity. Good mouthfeel indeed. Flavour: roastish malt and caramel, fruity, bit chocolate, nutty, pleasant bitterness.
