On draft. Dense black pour, with a thick brown head. Huge roast, char, bitter dark chocolate, some dark molasses, notes of fig, charred sooty malt, bitter hops, and finishes mostly dry. Tap at Pizza Port Bressi Ranch with GT2. Dark pour, rich head. Nose isn’t super assertive- coffee, cocoa. Taste is fairly bitter, extremely smooth and bitter dark chocolate, coffee. Draught at Pizza Port, Bressi Ranch, San Marcos. Pitch black beer with a nice lasting offwhite/beige head. Roasted malt aroma, chocolate, hay, soot, leather notes, cocoa powder, licorice, tar, bitter coffee. Hoppy roasted flavor, coffee, tar, licorice, soot, some burnt wood, vanilla notes, peat, floral, some caramel. Tap at Bressi Ranch many times, full pints. Inky pour, deeper color than night rider. Better head retention, rocky dark foam. Aroma is melted dark chocolate, rich cocoa, mild roast, piney and grilled mango hops. Taste is much richer and spicier, hoppier than night rider. More in the bells expedition area. Long, bitter palate that is close to imperial black ipa. Really boss, one of if not the best dark beer from Pizza port. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and licorice. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long roasted, coffee and licorice finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a small beige head. Aaron’s of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and grains. Flavor is sweet and roasted malt work done chocolate, coffee, nuts and caramel. Medium body, soft carbonation.

On tap at the brewpub. A black one topped by a dense, light tan head. Licorice, roasted malts, coffee and some dark sugar. Some alcohol warmth in the mouth, full body and a soft carbonation. Roasted malts, Dark chocolate, some molasses and salty licorice too. Lasting finish. A really nice sipper. 130813
