Draft at Pizza Port Carlsbad Jan 2016. Clear golden color with okay foam. Nose is wet dog and fresh lemon. Taste is denser, nutty, heavy, wickedly bitter. Dry end with aggressive grapefruit rind. Long, bitter finish. A bit too aggressive and nutty/heavy for me. blipp (9502) - La Mesa, California, USA - FEB 7, 2016
Draft. Pours clear gold with a white head. Crisp and fresh fruity hops, some lighter dank piney notes, mild-moderate bitterness, and low sweetness. Fresh, juicy, and damn delicious. slowrunner77 (12471) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 16, 2014
"a good pale...fresh, aromatic and bitter...nothing spectacular, but it does everything a classic pale ale should. i’d enjoy a pint any day. maybe a little hoppier than average?"

Draft with Linh at Pizza Port. Pours a clear amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is slight hops. Mouthfeel is light and thin with mild hop notes. brokensail (16609) - Dublin, California, USA - NOV 24, 2010
A: The pour is a dark golden/light amber color with medium white head.
S: The nose starts off with bready malts and earthy, floral hops. And that’s also just about where it stops. Pretty light aroma, overall.
T: A lot of similarities to the nose as I take the first sip. A moderate bitterness with an earthy hoppiness. The malts are bready and slightly sweet, but still not a very powerful flavor.
M: The body is medium, even for what is a pretty light beer, with a moderate level of carbonation.
D: Fairly light and simple, but definitely easy to drink. Not something I’d necessarily come back to, though.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours with a clear, deep golden body with a large white head with both good retention and lace. Aromas are grainy, earthy, and spicy hops with a light hint of caramel. Flavors are grainy and bitter with orange and light fruit. Kind of bland next to Lil Guy XPA. yespr (46790) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUL 23, 2009

Draft in Carlsbad. A copper colored beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma has strong notes of spicy hops, lending it notes of grapefruit. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of hops, lending it notes of spices, hay, and some grapefruit, leading to a rather bitter finish. Hoptagon (239) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - JUN 27, 2009
Keg from Carlsbad Port 06/27/09. Rumors that this one was dry hopped for a few weeks seem to be true. Nose is big and tropical with a mango like aroma. Looks orangish with a single finger of white froth. Nice hoppy flavor with notes of pine and grapefruit that is balanced by caramel malts and a light toasted character. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with a medium body and a mellow carbonation. Quick clean finish with a little punch of hop bitterness. Pretty impressive beer and probably doesn’t hurt that it was just kegged yesterday.
