Aroma: Very hoppy citrus and slight spice
Appearance: Perfectly clear and nice head
Flavor: Great bitterness and perfect malt balance for an APA
Palate: great rich mouthfeel
Overall: Perfect example of an APA can’t get much better chargerfanjess (129) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 21, 2006
Copper gold color low head very very hoppy aroma hoppy flavor with nice malty balance. I would say its closer to an IPA. Very very good beer. Perfect for San Diego anaheim1983 (140) - Anaheim, California, USA - APR 21, 2006
Very very hoppy pale nose and flavor very very bitter. NICE THOUGH???? I liked it but it did not seem to be a Sierra or any other malt balance pale...not that it claims to be nor do I think they want it to be. It could be its own style San Diego Pale??? Try it you’ll like it. CE619 (81) - san diego, California, USA - AUG 13, 2002
one of my favorite pale ales. very nice maltiness is highlighted by an incredible hop aroma and flavor. doubleo (1432) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 21, 2008
On-tap at PP C’Bad. Pours an orangish amber color with a thin white head, some lace. Smells perfectly balanced between the hops and malts. Taste is awesome, hoppy but not quite an IPA, nice and bitter. Plenty of earthy, sweet malts on the finish to back up all the hops. It’s like SNPA but with more character and depth. Medium body, good active carbonation. Awesome beer.

Draft. Pours clear gold with a white head. Crisp and fresh fruity hops, some lighter dank piney notes, mild-moderate bitterness, and low sweetness. Fresh, juicy, and damn delicious. Brewsmith (148) - Torrance, California, USA - NOV 27, 2008
On tap at the brewery. Aroma is hoppy, a little flowery and pine. A copper amber color, clear. Malty, but still balanced towards the hops without being overdone. Bitter, dry finish. Clean and drinkable. Very nice. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - DEC 8, 2008
Sampled on 12/8/08 at the brewery. This American Pale Ale poured a medium amber color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head, with nice retention. The aroma is caramel and sweet, with lots of floral and piney hops. A medium bodied Pale Ale. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are floral and piney. Nice carbonation. Very fresh tasting, the hop flavors are very clean and crisp. A fairly hoppy Pale Ale, yet it has a nice malt character. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter. Keg from Carlsbad Port 06/27/09. Rumors that this one was dry hopped for a few weeks seem to be true. Nose is big and tropical with a mango like aroma. Looks orangish with a single finger of white froth. Nice hoppy flavor with notes of pine and grapefruit that is balanced by caramel malts and a light toasted character. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with a medium body and a mellow carbonation. Quick clean finish with a little punch of hop bitterness. Pretty impressive beer and probably doesn’t hurt that it was just kegged yesterday. SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - AUG 10, 2006
On draft at Carlsbad Pizza Port. 6.1% ABV. copper color. nice roasty hop aroma. great hoppy flavor! a hop head delight. Big middle flavor that fades to a pleasant end.
