Had to rate this as an IPA, even though its classified as a "strong" pale ale... the brewers were probably .5 gram light on the hops to make this a pale ale. But its all IPA. And its a really good one. Pours yellowish gold, with a nice 2 finger head that stays present throughout the drinking experience. Big citrus and tropical fruit aroma that carries through in the taste. Nice balance. Lacing is fantastic. Really strong pine/resin/"grass" notes that definitely make this more IPA than pale ale. Great beer. On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. harrisoni (18437) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - APR 20, 2013

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell, London during the Pizza Port tap takeover. Pours clear, bright yellow with a lively, white cream head. Big citrus hop nose, rife with orange and tangerine, light pine, pale malts. Light to medium sweet flavor with dry citrus, lemon, tangerine, pine needles, adequate balancing pale malt sweetness. Light to medium bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Light dry citrus finish, with grapefruit, lemon and tangerine, along with some lovely mango notes. Awesome beer. Stupidly drinkable. On tap at brewery. Pours a light bodied golden hue with small white bubbly head. Craggy lacing on the sides. Aromas of amazing citra hops, most notably tangerin, orange peel, resinous fuel, chinook. Soft mouth feel and taste with load of juicy hop nugget flavors, tangerine, creamy malts. An awesome pale. jredmond (8206) - New York, New York, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Draft with Linh at pizza port Carlsbad. Pours a clear amber body with sure lacing. Aroma is fresh citrus hope, grapefruit, and pine. Mouthfeel is aggressive pine hop, which tends to dominate with subtle notes of citrus, bitter grapefruit skin and hop resin.

Tap at PPC. Clear yellow. Massive webby lacing. Nose is rich mango, cantaloupe. Taste is mega rich mango pith. Finish is oily and clean. Delicious. A great showcase probably of NZ hop varietals.

Isn’t this technically an IPA? Tap @ Port Carlsbad. Pours a mostly clear deep gold with a frothy white head. Great citrus hop aromas with a light biscuity malt base, a damn fine beer. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 5, 2013
Tap @ Pizza Port Carlsbad... Poured pale, golden/yellow with a thick white head. Nose had an intense amount of piney, citrus, floral hops. Tasted of hop juice with a hint of malt balance. So much hop flavor but not overly bitter. Fruity with citrus and tropical fruits. Hops in the finish. carboloader (674) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 26, 2014
On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. One taste and I was surprised to see this in the pale ale category. This is equal to other IPAs. Deliciously fruity pine citrus, grapefruit, tangerine flavors. Still a fairly light body, lovely bitter finish -- my favorite plain old "american pale ale" or whatever category it supposedly belongs. holdenn (2116) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 29, 2011
