Crushed at a Pizza Port beer dinner at Lyons Fork. One badass pils. Light yellow pour and very sticky. Excellent hop presence and an incredibly dry and delicious finish. Tasty and sessionable. Great beer.

Standout pils from the guys at PP Carlsbad. Super clean with bright and herbal/floral hop aroma and flavor over a lean but substantial malt base. Perfect session beer.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours with a clear golden body and a white head. Mild, grainy, grassy aroma with a bready finish. Taste is bread, bitter, clean, light butter, grassy and delicate. Very drinkable, light and dry. A well made pilsener!

A: The pour is a pale straw color with a short lived white head on it. S: The nose is quite bready and lacks the usual (and unwelcome) sulfur/skunk/lager aroma. A nice bit of floral and spicy hops to it, and were off to a good start. T: The flavor is similarly enjoyable. A good bread malt base with a moderate bitterness and good (but subtle) hop flavor in the form of spice and earth. M: The body is fairly substantial for a pilsener as well, and the carbonation is right in the middle of the road. D: A very good pils, and one of the better lagers I have come across in recent memory. Certainly a good choice for the non-IPA fan in your crowd.

Pint on tap at Port Carlsbad: Pale golden color with a small white head. Aroma is lightly sweet, grassy and grainy. Light sweet start is a little friuty followed by a refreshing hop bitterness and a light dry finish. Light-medium body is crisp with lively carbonation.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2011 Rerate 11/11/11 @ Carlsbad and 11/15/11 from growler. Looks the same, head fades to a thick film after a while. Aroma is much the same, though the hops seem a little brighter, even adding a light citrus note. That said, its only getting a 7 because the aroma is quite subtle. Flavor has the hops getting fairly floral towards the finish, which was dry, bitterness peaking at a 4 at the back corners of my tongue. Palate was the same as last time. Im sure my tastes have changed, but it still seems like a better beer now as compared to a couple years ago. Who knows. 7-4-8-4-15--3.8 Old rating follows. On tap @ Carlsbad. Clear pale golden with 1 1/2 finger white head. Aroma is biscuits, cooked pasta, light grass. Flavor adds a bit of grainy, low bitterness. Light body, light to mod carbonation. OK pils. 7-4-6-3-12--3.2
