On tap at Pizza Port , San Clemente, pours a dark brown black with a small head. Nose is malty and chocolate, and pleasant. Taste is strong malt with coffee espresso flavor. Finish is sweet and ends with the same flavors it starts with . Nice. Quaff Score 8/ 10 zgaier (1951) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - DEC 31, 2012
On tap at pizza port San Clemente. Pours a dark brown with a brown head and aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is of roasted malt, sweet chocolate notes, and coffee with a chocolate, toasty finish. Delicious porter dreadnord (1012) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 26, 2012
Big and black from the tap to the glass with a small tan head. Nose is coffee, chocolate, light toffee and dried pine needles. Taste is more bitter than sweet. Dare I say slightly off balanced. Not by much though. Mouthfeel is crisp cold and soften and smoothed out a bit as it warms, body is medium and the finish is long.

Tap. Nice dark brown pour with a wispy tan head. Roasted malt, milk chocolate, some dark fruit notes, and coffee nose. Flavor is roasty, dark bread(pumpernickel), coffee and chocolate. Pretty nice stuff! ADfan (870) - Orange County, California, USA - AUG 4, 2012

Draft. A really good porter. Plenty of Earth, roast, coffee and nuts. The body was medium and the finish was dry, somewhat chalky, and bitter sweet.

Tap at Pizza Port San Clemente. Pier rat porter. Pours deep cola to brune with a deeper mocha head. Nose is thicker roast and muted caramel/coffee. Taste is quite bitter, roasty, semisweet chocolate. Bits of cardboard in the finish but overall very clean on the palate. Perhaps a bit soily, earthy, raw. Very simple, no nonsense robust porter with proclivity towards to bitter end of the spectrum for style. Easily sessionable. I can see why it would win GABF Gold. But I think I’ll just take another Dawn til Dusk. Mortlach (2347) - Rome, ITALY - JAN 20, 2012
24/05/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (tap).

OLD gabf rating. Burnt up chocolate and great. I love it. A little wet on the tongue but otherwise awesome. I dig. Candy at end.
