Served cold, on tap. Dark brown (almost black) with a creamy head. Hints of coffee and chocolate in aroma, both of which are present in taste, with a slightly bitter finish. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - APR 16, 2007
Pours an opaque black with dark brown edges and a dense, frothy tan head. Lightly sweet, roasty dark malty aroma has some dark chocolate notes. Starts with a sweet caramely maltiness topped with a touch of roasty malt and a molten dark chocolate finish. A very drinkable and enjoyable porter. iowaherkeye (2703) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - MAR 18, 2007
On tap @ the brewpub. Black pour with ruby edges and a one finger creamy beige head. It should be noted that this is a nitro beer. Aroma of chocolate, roasted grain and coffee. Flavor is the same with light tobacco leaves ad a moderately bitter semidry finish. Flat with a light to medium body. Never had a nitro porter before, but this was pretty good. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - FEB 8, 2007
Draft @ PP: Poured a very dark brown with a ruby hue and creamy tan head. Light coffee and light roasted aroma. Chocolate in the background. Thin roasted malt flavor. A little harsh on the finish. The body was light almost watery. hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - OCT 1, 2006

On tap @ Pizza Port San Clemente poured a transluscent brownish black with a lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla and some roastiness. Palate was medium bodied, creamy and smooth. Flavors of chocolate, vanilla and light coffee with a smooth lightly bitter finish. BeerPrince (1701) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 16, 2006
Nose is huge roastiness with mild coffee and some chocolate notes. Very light brown with a lazy head. Hoppy with a lot of malts with the coffee and chocalte coming through. Simple bitter finish. 0o9i (439) - Reno, Nevada, USA - APR 19, 2006
Tap @ brewery. Dark, ruby/walnut body with a light tan head. Webby lace with splotches. Yeast/bread on the aroma, dark malts, caramel, coffee, chocolate. Mouth is medium with tons of super-soft carbonation (like a nitro), lightly dry. Flavor is plastic, candy, sugar, dust, lightly roasty, touch sour dough in the finish, touch bitter, coffee, light alcohol. Interesting amalgamation of flavors, but I drank it and even enjoyed it. Very unique. Great mouth. awaisanen (1304) - Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 5, 2006
Very dark, but not quite black body with a light tan, creamy head. Light aromas of blacky cherry, coffee, caramel, and the roasted malt. Creamy, but almost imperial-esque flavor qualities. Very toasty with a touch of vanilla at the finish. Very nice brew. jimbowood (1036) - Freeport, Georgia, USA - DEC 29, 2005
On tap @ Solana Beach location. Is this a porter or a stout. Either way, a very drinkable, well balanced beer. Looks nice in the glass too.
