The beer pours a dark amber color with a thin khaki head. Sweet malt, particularly toffee, on the nose with a nice bread and molasses aroma. A touch of peat and quite a bit of dark fruit. Mild alcohol on the flavor with lots of rich malt flavor in the form of toffee, molasses, and toasted bread. Good fruit notes, mild peatiness, perhaps just a hint of cocoa. scotch ale all the way, which is a style that usually impresses. it was a good beer, but a slightly above average interpretation of the style...i wanted it to be a little heavier, and there was a distinct lack of smokey peat. oh well, otherwise it was malty goodness."

Tap at PPC. Clear deep reddish amber with minimum beige foam. Nose is cheap cherry coke, vanilla, brown sugar. Taste is very sweet, oily, rich, dense. Palate is thick, rich, maple syrupy. Not too cloying. Bitter chocolate would be a nice balancer here but it's absent. Still delicious. Dessert beer.
