22/11/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Bevuta al Thanksgiving Day. Nera, impenetrabile, densa, schiuma color cappuccino, molto scura, non molto abbondante ma persistente. Al naso sentori di malti tostati, caffé, cioccolata e liquirizia. In bocca ha un attacco dolce, cioccolatoso, e un finale di liquirizia e caffé, amaro e lungo. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione abbondante, alcol incredibilmente nascosto. Imperial stout magistrale, per nulla estrema, ma di grande sostanza ed equilibrio.
Gravity Cask Third of a Pint at GBBF 2014, Olympia, London Aug 2014 - Opaque Black in colour. No head. Very Malty; dark chocolate, roast malts, more dark chocolate, espresso coffee, caramel, hint of liquorice. Fruity; dark fruit notes. Hoppy; some balancing hop bitterness. Rich. Smooth. Sweet very chocolatey roast malty throughout. Enjoyed this. Lovely Impy Choc Stout! (2014-08-13)

Cask @ GBBF 2014. Deep brown pour. Absolutely still in appearance. No head. Nose is pretty rich. Peanut butter, chocolate, cocoa. A bit of soy sauce. Taste is heavy on the roasted malt. Char. Sample at Great British Beer Festival 2014. Black beer with an beige head. Roasted chocolate licorice fruity tar aroma. Fruity roasted smokey licorice tar dark fruits caramell flavour. Lovely beer :-)

Cask at GBBF 2014 - London. Day 2. Pours black-brown with a tan froth crown. Big and treacly, with rich chocolate malts, some charred wood. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sample at Great British Beer Festival 2014. Black beer with a small beige head. Roasted chocolate aroma, cocoa, licorice, fruity, hay notes, raisins, tar, some ash. Fruity roasted flavor, licorice, hay, grassy, smoked notes, figs and raisins, caramel, some soot. Good body. Really nice beer. Nose is rich chocolate, roasted vibes, dark toffee, tar, leather.
Taste comprises rich roasted tones, light spice, chocolate cale, dark fruit rinds, molasses.
Full bodied, moderate carbonation, warming alcohol in the close.

2014, London (13/08/2014) - black coloured pour with a good tan head. Roasted malty aroma and taste, some chocolate, coffee, boozy warming finish. Very good.
