Sampled on draft at the brewery. Citrusy, floral, caramel, bready, very hoppy, really nice. jmarsh123 (163) - Indiana, USA - OCT 3, 2013
Had at Pizza Port-OB. Pours a deep amber with a small white head and decent lacing.
Smells strongly of caramel malts with very little hop presence in the aroma.
Tastes of caramel similar to the smell, but a stronger hop presence in the taste. Bitter earthy hops up front rounding into caramel notes finishing with a good lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel is med-hi with a bit of stickiness to it.
I’m slowly realizing hoppy reds are my favorite. Port Brewing has another winner.

Bottle. Ridiculously over carbed. Jan 13 bottling. Malty at this point. A shelf lingerer. Meilby (11517) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 13, 2013

Pours clear amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, biscuit, grain and floral. Taste is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
On tap at the brewpub. An amber colored beer with a small off-white head. Caramel and some pine cones and lemon peel in the aroma, the flavor pretty much the same. A good bitterness too in the flavor of course. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Mostly bitter finish. Quite decent this one, but didn’t ring any of my bells. 130813

Tap at brewery. Taste is smooth with some rye and a bit dry. Overall I really liked this red ale. ACHops (1594) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 1, 2013
On tap @ Pizza Port Bressi Ranch. Pours dark copper amber with medium head that fades to thin quickly. Aroma is sweet slightly roasty caramel malt and just a hint of hoppy spice. Taste is big dark caramel malt, roaster than sweet. Bitter earthy hops on the finish. Outstanding for an amber. Always heard of this beer, can’t believe this is the first I’ve had it. I’ll be back for more. Leighton (21489) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 25, 2013
On tap at CBC Clerkenwell during the Pizza Port Tap Takeover - London. Pours clear, red-gold with a fine, creamy head. Sweet and bready with a good dose of toffee, brown bread, some ripe citrus. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Fairly resinous to finish, with toasty bread, some fruity tones. Good balance, nice toffee notes. I like it. mcberko (18068) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 25, 2013
On tap at Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell, pours a dark amber with a small tan head. Aroma of dry caramel malts, and mild, restrained floral hops. Flavour brings out dry caramel malt, pungent floral hops and some more toffee-ish malts. ABV is well-hidden. Mouthfeel is very full, very dry -- full of dry caramel malts. Highly drinkable, while still being fairly full-bodied for the style. Very good stuff.
