Hazy red amber, lasting off white head.Hop nose. Tart fruity hop taste with lasting finish.Good body. DYCSoccer17 (3705) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 9, 2005
On Draft at Pizza port Solana Beach. Floral hops in the nose of this with a slight sugary sweetness as well. Transparent amber/reddish color with a light off white head. Fruity astringent notes to start turning quite bitter with grapefruit notes. Sweetness backs this up and makes it more tolerable. The malt profile on this is nice. Extra points for its uniqueness. (Draft: Pizza Port in Solana Beach, CA) Fairly malty with a pretty strong bitter hop bite in the finish. Moderately sweet, but with a dry finish. Some mild roastiness throughout. Malty, caramely nose, moderately sweet, light hops, some tea, smells like some double IPAs I’ve had. Full bodied, nice round mouthfeel, oily and smooth initially until the hops kicks in and cleans things out for a drier, long-lasting finish. Deep ruddy color with a slightly brown hue. Light tan head is small on the pour, fades to a thin halo surrounding a few thin wisps in the center. Some lace here and there. Shark Bite to Shark Bitten to Shark Attack, all are good, but the progression gets better. beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - AUG 30, 2005
On tap at the 2005 OBF. Pours mahogany with a small off-white head. Big citrus hops in the nose giving this beer a very crisp, long trailing, bitter finish. Malts tasted kinda caramel and cerealy. Nice beer, but the bitterness just stays with you forever. Storm (2684) - Amager, DENMARK - OCT 12, 2005
On tap from the brewpub. Tasted during trip to California. Brown colour. Some aroma of nuts and sweetness. Really amazing taste, extreme tasteful and light at same time. This is a "most try" if you come to Pizza Port (Solona Beach).

English bitter-malt like aroma. Crystal malt flavor, chocolaty, smooth and creamy. Lots of citric hops and alcohol in the finish. Looks like a few brewers are taking a stab at Arrogant Bastard now. bager (2120) - Copenhagen N, DENMARK - SEP 10, 2006
On tap. Clear dark brown and reddish in coloured with a small head. Both malty and hoppy. Starting sweet and finishing bitter. SDbruboy (1864) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 1, 2005
Draft at brewpub. Dark, clear, reddish brown with a small beigey head that diminished to nothing. Nice rich caramelly-fruity malty aroma with understated yet still evident citrus hops. Sweet malty flavor as well, rich and smooth, bitter-astringent hop finish. I found it good but slightly unbalanced. Medium to full body and gentle carbonation. 21iceman40 (1735) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 15, 2003
This was good, kind of a lighter brew, but still good. A nice roasted red color, with a floral hoppiness to it. Nothing exceptional to say, but it was slightly above average, and very enjoyable. can8ianben (1561) - State College, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 9, 2008
Hmm, the beer we tried was called Shark Bite Imperial Red Ale... Not sure if that’s the same beer or not, but it was tasty! Loads of malt to balance out the incredible amount of hop presence. This one is thick and syrupy, like liquid gold. Smooth and very mellow in spite of how big this beer is. Very nice.
