Sample at GABF 10/13/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Hazy brown color with a medium tan head and a partial top ring of lacing. Aroma of malt and a touch of hops. Draught at the brewpub. Clear, deep brown liquid with red hue and small off-white head. Aroma of coffee, pumpernickel, tobacco, smoke and dark chocolate. Nice. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of ash, coffee and knäckebröd. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation.

Skid Mark Brown. Tap at PP OB. Clear reddish brown with a one finger light beige head, and fair retention. Aroma of nutty toasty malt, a bit of vanilla. Flavor has some fruity English yeast and nutty, toasty malt. Even some light coffee notes are present. Not much sweetness, dry finish with bitterness peaking at a 2ish. Draught Amber-red with a whitish rim. Lighter and intenser darker coloured malts, chocolate or ’brownies’, nutty, bready and mineral wafts. Dullish sweet, with non-bitter cacao, and some interesting leafy/autumnal flavours. Light body, spritzy to fizzy carbonation, bit empty finish. Well... light. On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a clear chestnut-brown body with a small, just off-white head. Aromas are nutty, maple, brown sugar and light chocolate. All malt. Draft. Wow, appetizing name for this one. Brown in color, as you’d expect, with a small light tan head on top. Nutty aroma with sweet caramel and a touch of earthy hops. The flavor is good, but could stand to be more assertive. Maris Otter malt base evident with nuts, caramel, and cocoa. The mouthfeel is a bit watery, and carbonation is average. Solid attempt at the style overall despite the palate shortcoming.
