22/11/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Bevuta al Thanksgiving Day. Dorata, pesca, schiuma bellissima, molto abbondante e straordinariamente persistente. Al naso aroma intensissimo, un bouquet esplosivo di frutta esotica e pesca con note erbacee, davvero impressionante. In bocca è luppolata decisa ma bilanciata, secca, di facile beva, quasi perfetta. On tap at Carlsbad. Pours with a mildly hazed golden hued body with a frothy white head that lasts. Aromas are of tangerine, pomelo, citrus, herbaceous and dank. All hops. Flavors are sweet fruit, citrus, herbaceous, dank and a bit minty. Low to no malt character which is fine by me. Fresh tasting. Lively bubbles and dry. Pours a hazed golden color with a sticky white head. Intense grapefruit aroma to this. It’s very citric. Very little malt to it all. There’s some pine, maybe a bit of pineapple. A bit of weed, too. The flavor is just as much intense grapefruit as the aroma had with a bit more pine bitterness and pineapple. The marijuana is there, too. Just a hint of pale malt flavor. Tap at Carlsbad. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a medium bubbly white head. Aroma of caramel malt, lightly floral and citrus hop notes and some toasted malt. Flavor of caramel malt, resiny hop notes, citrus, floral and light pine.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Apparently a American "strong" pale ale. Backlogged rating. Dont remember much about it, ergo it couldnt have been mind-blowing. Tasted at the 7th Annual Triple Rock Firkin Fest on 4/24/2010. This pale ale pours a medium orange gold color from the firkin. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is orange, citrusy hops and malts. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. Lot of orange . Semi-sweet. The hops are citrusy and grapefruity. Nice balance. On cask at the Tap Room in PB . Was expecting a smooth Pale Ale, along the lines of Fire Rock, Stone, Sierra Nevada, etc. This was almost like a light IPA. Aroma is citrus, hops and even a little soapy. Appearance is a thick, murky, opaque gold with a soft pillow of white head. Hits the palate hard, but then smooths right out. Carlsbad: Clear golden amber color with a small white head. Aroma is sweet citrus with a hint of orange peel. Flavor starts citrus hoppy with a little grapefruit and a dry, lightly bitter finish. Medium body has lively carbonation. This is the fine line between a pale ale and an IPA.
